Workshop on Science Agency Uses of Clouds and Grids

The following connection methods will be activated during the workshop. If you encounter problems with any given method, please try another to find one that works best for your location.

Remote slide display

Slide content can be followed remotely using the Internet2 Adobe Connect service. Adobe connect users will only be able to see the slides (not video or audio; see below). Normally this is done by visiting the web page for the conference, installing any plugins that are needed (Flash, Adobe, etc.). The Adobe Connect window will contain the slides being shown, along with text chat capabilities. Once again, this connection does _not_ provide audio or video capability, only slides as they are being shown and chat capabilities.

Streaming video instructions to watch but not interact: (Use this if you want to see participants but are not video equipped - call in by phone also to participate.) Go to https://slacmcu-sd2.es.net/streaming.html to reach the streaming page. Skip the "Sign-in name" field and the "PIN" field, and nter the number 79409 into the Conference ID field. Select your preferred player (RealVideo or Quicktime) via the pull-down menu then click on the "Stream this conference" button to initiate the streaming output feed.

We recommend that you connect at least several minutes ahead of time to allow the EVO system time to launch and download any needed components to your computer. If you do not yet have a free EVO, please obtain one as far as possible ahead of time to allow your registration time to be processed by the sign-up system.

Once you have registered and are logged in, if the link above does not start up the meeting, use the "Search" pull-down menu in Koala to search for the meeting in the Universe community with title "Science Agency" (without the quotes). Clicking on the resulting line in the search results window should launch the dialog to join the meeting.
