Public comments are a very important part of the OGF document approval process. Through public comments, documents are given scrutiny by people with a wide range of expertise and interests. Ideally, a OGF document will be self-contained, relying only on the other documents and standards it cites to be clear and useful. Public comments of any type are welcomed, from small editorial comments to broader comments about the scope or merit of the proposed document. The simple act of reading a document and providing a public comment that you read it and found it suitable for publication is very useful, and provides valuable feedback to the document authors.
Thank you for making public comments on this document!

The OCCI HTML5 specification calls out the use of XHTML5 tags ,
- , and
- to represent lists of resources. The compliant order and organization of the resources are not clear from the specification. From the language of the specification it appears the mapping of HTML5 tags are a suggestion and not a hard definition. If they are a definition, what are the rules to implement a compliant OCCI/XHTML5 document ?

Example XHTML in the OCCI XHTML5 specification shows the use of forms to transfer commands and data to the occi host system. The example in the spec, it shows the action as "/myvm". Should the action be one of the CRUD operations ?

The OCCI specification both infers and calls out specific hierarchical information. However, the order or other organization of occi data is not clearly defined. A clearing mapping is required to generate compliant html5 document.

The XHTML5 specification does not call out any hard mapping to XHTML tags. Tags
- ,
- and
, and . provides a well known behavior for assigning attributes over a segment of XHTML. Using , it should be possible to include occi data/metadata as RDFa into a structure that does not require visual rendering and preserving a machine readable occi sequence. The RDFa "content" attribute could be used to hold occi data as an attribute in the span tag. All methods below preserve RDFa requirements in the OCCI XHTML5 specification

HTML Tags referenced in the comment edit box are accepted and renders as HTML code. It is difficult to show html examples as plain text.

In the OCCI XHTML specification document, it shows the use of the XHTML "alt" attribute as secondary representation when graphic capabilities are not available on the browser. This is a useful practice and should be added to the document text as a recommended practice
