Cloud systems for storage and computing have garnered substantial interest. There are many unanswered questions.
1) When are clouds applicable e.g. could (some of) TeraGrid workload be formulated as a cloud architecture
2) What features do they have -- performance, reliability, capacity ...
3) One likes to talk about services; is this the right way to think about clouds which are themselves "black boxes" -- a Narrow Grid of often proprietary services
4) What are the standards needed for Cloud use/interoperability; what is scope of Cloud interoperability
5) What is architecture (services, standards) of gateways to clouds i.e. what e-infrastructure will be used to manage use of multiple clouds

See slide 23 of http://grids.ucs.indiana.edu/ptliupages/presentations/OGFStandards_Dec10-07.ppt

This BOF will set scene and review options for OGF activities in this area
