This session will present a document on Grid Education and Training Policy. This document has been developed at the successful sessions at OGF 19 through 21. In this session the draft document will be presented for final feedback and review, before proceeding to the document publishing stage.
e-Science and e-Infrastructure Education and Training is closely influenced by national and international policies as it moves into the academic mainstream. The future capacity to undertake research enabled by innovation in e-Science and the shape of e-Infrastructure development is therefore intimately tied to the creation of policies in this area.
There is the currently opportunity to influence the submissions to some of the groups creating the recommendations on which national and regional policies will be based.
This document has been developed in conjunction with the development of a similar document for the e-IRG (e-Infrastructures Reflection Group) which is leading the development of policy recommendations to the European Commission on a variety of aspects of e-Infrastructures. This document, however, contains the inputs from a wider community beyond the EU, gathered at previous OGFs. It therefore both reflects current policy directions while at the same time presenting an opportunity to shape future policy directions.
The expected outcome of this session a major step towards a draft submission on policies for Education and Training in e-Science and e-Infrastructures, together with agreement on the steps to be taken to make a completed submission at OGF23 in Barcelona.
