BEinGRID Case Study LIVE DEMO:
Risk Management in Finance

The Business Experiment tackles a Grid solution in the financial sector. Financial institutions face computational time and resource challenges in the risk analysis of investment portfolios. Risk analysis requires the use of time-constrained financial algorithms which impose real-time processing constraints which are a major challenge. The objective of BE11 is to demonstrate how Grid technologies can bring solutions to these challenges. BE11, led by Centrale Recherche (MAS Lab, Ecole Centrale Paris), brings its expertise in Grid technologies and applied mathematics to financial problems. Fininfo provides time-consuming data, Axa insurance data: BE11 will have to determine how to accurately price specific products. Telefonica brings expertise on business modeling.

SPONSOR LIVE DEMO:
FURA - GridSystems

In 2007, GridSystems committed to an open-source business model in order to lower the barriers and ease the adoption of this technology, but with a dual licensing model that also provides professional support services to customers and enables third party proprietary licensing and other commercial models. Fura, our open source grid middleware, will be showcased in this demo.

Fura is a self-contained grid middleware that allows the grid enablement and distribution of applications on heterogeneous computational resources. Fura features a web-based GUI, wizard-guided installation and configuration, and Web Services compliance. In this demo session, we will overview Fura capacities and some practical applications will be presented. Attendees will experience first hand some of the Fura characteristics such as: multiplatform support, built in facilities for parametric sweep, application provisioning, web service based file system, built-in role based user systems, error detection and recovery facilities, authorization via access control lists, web based GUI, WSDL interfaces, and modular plugin based architecture.
