OGF-Europe Tutorial: Managing Files & Storage Spaces using the Storage Resource Manager (SRM) Interface
(90 mins)
Flavia Donno, CERN
View Participants
he Storage Resource Manager (SRM) is an OGF standard interface for middleware components that provide dynamic space allocation and file management of shared storage components on the Grid.
The SRM is a common abstraction layer that provides a workable interface that can be immediately used by Grid projects to resolve interoperability issues between storage systems.
The aim of this Tutorial is to show application scenarios in both enterprise and academic settings, highlighting the advantages of adopting SRM and offering a valuable overview of the implementations available.
