Universities compete for faculty, students, and research funding while educational and research collaborations across institutions grow stronger and more numerous. Unique scientific instruments are positioned in various locations around the globe; distributed storage of petabytes of data is becoming common place.
The talk will survey the international landscape of the R&E network infrastructure being put in place to facilitate these collaborations, the use of those facilities, access to distributed compute and data facilities, and give some examples of experiments past, present, and future that depend on this infrastructure
We intend to have speakers representing Asian, European, and North American R&E networks
Agenda: Heighten the aware of the GRID community about the global infrastructure we have been building and is now in place
Location: Creation
