Towards Worldwide Grid User Support (90 mins)
Torsten Antoni (EGEE), Rob Quick (OSG)
View Participants

In this session the approach towards user support in distributed international grid projects is presented by experts from large scale grid infrastructures (EGEE, OSG). Special attention will be given to interoperability and possible or existing interoperation between different grids and long term sustainability.
Grid users are in many cases using several grid infrastructures in parallel for their work. Therefore the providers and operators of these grids have to enable the users to easily submit problem reports concerning any of the grid infrastructures they are using and have a way to communicate these report across the various grids.
The goal of this session will be to start discussions adressing the issue of grid user support and especially the interaction between different grid infrastructures in this field. This should lead to a working group with this topic (probably in the ... area).
Presentations by OSG, EGEE and others (e.g. national grid initiatives in Europe) will document the state of work in this area and give an outlook on future development (e.g. standards).
Agenda:
User support in OSG (R. Quick) - 20'
User support in EGEE (T. Antoni) - 20'
