Three topics will be addressed:
1 - Conclusion of the current working group activities. This includes use of the GIN interoperability SRB data grid for preservation demonstrations.
2 - Specification of Preservation management policies. A new open source technology is available (iRODS) for the automation of preservation policies. We will present the current consortium, the current rule set, and the design behind creation of new management policies
3 - Application of the management policies to grid services. The goal is to design the rules for use of grid services within preservation environments. The result will be a set of requirements for building preservation systems on grid technology
Agenda:
Session 1 - PERG interoperability demonstration for preservation environments. This defines what is currently feasible.
Session 2 - Preservation management policies. The iRODS technology will be demonstrated for automation of preservation policy execution
Session 3 - Grid services management. We will examine how to specify preservation management policies that control the execution of grid services
