This new group has set the following goals:
(i) to verify that within existing Grid standards the request for systems with common capabilities might be satisfied by either physical systems, or by the infrastructure creating and managing virtual systems (“neutrality” argument);
(ii) to document use cases wherein the Grid infrastructure is seen participating directly in the lifecycle of a virtual system (as opposed to this being part of traditional off-line system management in a data center);
(iii) to define one or more profiles with which we can manipulate the virtual system (e.g. inclease memory, network bandwith, processing power, etc.), cause the suspend/resume of a virtual system, or migrate it from one location to another.
