Grids Mean Business 3: Grid Markets and Service Delivery
(90 mins)
Ian Osborne, Project Director, Grid Computing Now!
View Participants
This session will examine business scenarios based on the provision and sourcing of services in a grid market. Utility computing provides this facility at the level of computing resources, whether these are CPU time or storage. Software as a service provides higher-level, application-specific, services. A grid market can exist within a company, where different departments and projects buy time from a central infrastructure. Or it may exist between companies, providing new business opportunities.
Case studies from a range of companies will show the applicability of this paradigm across business sectors.
