An opportunity for users and developers to find out the latest happenings with Globus and related tools.
The Globus Project is developing fundamental technologies needed to build Grids --persistent environments that enable software applications to integrate instruments, displays, computational and information. In this BOF we will give a brief overview of the components which make up the Globus Toolkit, an open source software toolkit that includes services and libraries for security, resource management, monitoring and discovery, file transfer and data management. We summarize future plans, and give details on how others can contribute to this effort. In addition, we will have several brief targeted talks by new projects, including the GridWay metascheduler. We will then open up the session to community concerns and needs through discussion with the audience members.
Agenda: 2-2:30: Globus overview, Jennifer Schopf
2:30-2:50: OGSA-DAI, Amy Krause
2:50-2:10: GridWay, Ruben Montero
3:10-3:30: Open Discussion
