Next Installment of the OGC-OGF Collaboration Workshop

Besides having the open call listed below, this workshop will have the
following goals and cover the following topics:

GEOSPATIAL TECHNOLOGIES:

* Report on OWS-6 planning: goals, threads, sponsors, participants, etc.
(The OWS-6 Sponsors Meeting is April 30 in Herndon, Virginia, and the
actual plan should be finalized during May. We will discuss whatever
can be publicly discussed in early June.)
* Outbrief on EGU sessions in Vienna in April
* CYCLOPS talk from Stefano Nativi
* Presentation on GENESI-DR
* What do geospatial end-users need and want?

GRID TECHNOLOGIES:

* GEO-Grid (S. Sekiguchi) to talk on their virtualization work w/ OGC
* INFOD people to talk on event notification for geospatial apps
* SAGA, GridRPC, HPC-BP people to talk about possible WPS implementations
* Talks on Kepler, Triana, Taverna, Pegasus, workflow engines


OGC-OGF Collaboration Workshop
OGF-23 Call For Participation

The Open Grid Forum and the Open Geospatial Consortium will be hosting
a workshop at OGF-23 in Barcelona, Spain, June 2-6, 2008, on the topic
of grid-enabling standard geospatial processing tools, pursuant to the
MOU between the OGC and OGF.

Hence, we are soliciting presentations on all projects and works in
the geospatial application domain using grid technologies, including
but not limited to:

Digital repositories,
Virtualization,
WPS implementations,
Workflow and programming tools,
Catalog/repository federation, and
Pub/sub and event notification.

In addition to presentations on these topics, we will also will have
an outbrief on the Earth and Space Science Informatics sessions at the
April, 2008, meeting of the European Geophysical Union, and discuss
the planning efforts for OGC's Web Services testbed, OWS-6. This
workshop will be coordinated with OGC's Technical Committee meeting
being held simultaneously in Potsdam, Germany, to facilitate technical
exchange between the two organizations.
