GridForge is the collaboration environment used by OGF working groups to manage their working group activities. Whereas the OGF document series is one of the products of OGF, GridForge represents the working groups' works in progress. GridForge is also used extensively by the OGF Editor to manage documents that are in the editor's pipeline.

Most OGF working groups use GridForge for:

• Hosting a summary page for the working group.
• Performing document management and version control.
• Providing a working group specific wiki.
• Managing issue trackers related to working group documents and business.
