Feedback on charter

Peter,
I visited the work group site at http://www.daasi.de/wgs/CGS and I agree
with the charter.

I do have a few minor formal comments:

   - I guess you should mention who the chairs of the work group are.

   - The userids in the email addresses of the 3 IBMers from Boeblingen are
in upper case, this looks pretty ancient. Please change to lower case.
Some others have typos in the mailto: (Carl) or displayed text (Jenny).

   - Apply name change of work group CIMGIS -> CGS everywhere.

   - The "CIMGRID" short name for the model being developed could also be
named CGS. Why introduce a new name, that only makes it necessary to
   explain the difference every time.

   - Mention the mailing list which has been set up in the mean time.

   - Mention the web site which has been set up in the mean time.

   - The GGF web site does not yet mention this new WG. I assume this will
be pursued once the board approves the charter ?

and a couple of content related comments:

   - "The CIMGIS working group wants to define a new Grid information model
based on the Common Information Model (CIM) that is being standadized by
the DMTF" -> I suggest to say "owned" instead of "being standardized",
because there are existing versions of the standard as well as new ones
   that are under work.

   - I suggest to produce only one final document covering the Grid schema
requirements, the CIM profile, and the specification of a Grid schema.
We can start to look somewhat broader as we do in the CIM profile work,
and collect what is there, but in the end game we should be producing a
schema spec and the set of stuff we looked at at the start of the work
at some point gets anecdotal character I think. So what I think the flow
of documents in this area should be, is as follows. Each step produces a
   document that can be published.
      1. Produce requirements document, draft version
      2. Extend that to add the existing CIM classes that play a role (CIM
      profile), still draft version
      3. Extend that to add specification of the grid schema, CIM profile
stuff gets moved to appendix, still draft version
      4. Finalize this for submission to the GGF document process.
I think this comment is nothing that would prevent the charter to be
submitted to the GGF board. This is a minor topic on how to organize the
work, and we can discuss this as we go.

I think we need to have regular calls, e.g. weekly, and I can offer to set
up e-meetings with Lotus SameTime. You should make the decision whether or
not we would be doing it that way, if yes I will provide the information
how to test SameTime for everybody (It does not require installation of a
product, it is browser based.)

I sign up to provide input and review all the documents we will produce. I
also sign up to be the editor of the schema spec and any documents it
emerges from, if you still need one.
