[cgs-wg] FW: Service Data Elements corresponding to dmtf models

This might be a useful agenda topic for discussion at GGF8. But does anyone
have any thoughts in advance of the meeting?

To complement the latest DAIS (Data Access and Integration) specification,
we need to describe characteristics of data resource managers, in particular
characteristics that concern application access to data. See
http://forge.gridforum.org/projects/ggf-editor/document/Grid_Data_Service_Sp
ecification/en/1/Grid_Data_Service_Specification.pdf
for the latest DAIS specification.

See externalDataResourceManager, physicalProperties, sofwareCapabilities,
featuresInstalled, featuresActivated, ownership, SecurityCapabilities,
transactionCapabilities, externalDataResource.

Some of the information in the dmtf CIM schema 2.7 seems similar to what is
required for DAIS - in particular CIM_Application27 and CIM_Database27 - See
http://www.dmtf.org/standards/cim_schema_v27.php

The cgs-wg name is generic. The workgroup's focus appears to be the job
submission model. Would the cgs-wg be interested in defining the required
SDEs based on the DMTF application/database models?
