RE: [sem-grd] Agents and the Grid?
Dear All,
I am Omair Shafiq, semantic grid research student working in collaboration
with Communication Technologies JAPAN, and National University of Sciences
& and Technology (www.niit.edu.pk) Pakistan.
in reply to Devaid De Roure,
We have just completed with a toolkit named "AgentWeb Gateway".
It makes FIPA compliant JADE Agents to communication and discover web
services and vice versa hence providing two way communication among both
the technologies. So we have achieved Integration of Agents and Web
Services.
Next step is to enhance this toolkit to make the Software Agents with Grid
and vice versa. As soon as it is released officially by my supervisors Dr.
Hiroki Suguri (Vice President Comtec) and Dr. H. Farooq Ahmad (Associate
Prof NUST) we will send you this url and publications.
I would support that both the Agent and Grid activities to be initiated in
GGF because that would support a very important research area "Agents over
Grid" which I believe are very important factors to proceed towards
Semantic Grid.
Semantic Grid is " Software Agents over existing Grid Infrastructure with
semantics as glue to keep both of technologies integrated".
I have experienced many times a gap of knowledge and ideas among Agents
and Grid research community.
Semantic Grid is .... Intelligent (brains forming dynamic virtual
organizations, Aim of Agent (FIPA) community) needs a robust
infrastructure to cope with hetrogenous envoronment (Aim of Grid (OGSA)
community).
So if GGF has both the Agents and Grid avtivities, it would help both the
communities to inline their efforts.
Waiting for comments from community ...
Best Regards,
M. Omair Shafiq
