Hello,
We now have the complete list of talks for the GGF9 workshop
(but they are not yet in any particular order). Please see

A text version can be found below. I'm putting abstracts
online as they become available.
I look forward to seeing you at the event!

Semantic Grid Workshop at GGF9
The Semantic Grid Workshop will be held at the Ninth Global Grid Forum
on Sunday 5 October, 2003, 2pm - 7:30pm, Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers,
Chicago IL, USA.
Co-Chairs: David De Roure, Carole Goble and Geoffrey Fox
This workshop, which is an activity of the GGF Semantic Grid Research
Group, is an opportunities for Semantic Grid practitioners to present
their latest work in the Semantic Grid area, i.e. Grid projects using
Semantic Web technologies. The workshop is also aimed at would-be
practitioners who wish to see the state of play and current practice
in this field, and is open to anyone registered for GGF.
Here is the list of the topics of the invited talks. Please note that
we are working on the schedule currently and the talks below are not
yet in any particular order. Final titles and abstracts will be put
online as they become available.
* Semantic support for Grid-Enabled Design Search in Engineering
Simon Cox
* AI planning and knowledge-based approaches to workflow
Jim Blythe
* Attaching semantic annotations to service descriptions
Luc Moreau
* Semantic matching of grid resource description frameworks
John Brooke
* Semantic Grid and Pervasive Computing
David De Roure
* Interoperability challenges in Grid for Industrial Applications
Speaker TBC
* Towards a Grid Scheduling Ontology
Wolfgang Ziegler
* The myGrid Project: Services, Architecture and Demonstrator
Carole Goble
* Knowledge Discovery and Ontology-based services on the Grid: The
Knowledge Grid project
Mario Cannataro
Presentations will be accompanied by written papers and these will be
combined into an informational document for GGF.
We are also planning a discussion on the Semantic Grid roadmap, where
we will put various Semantic Grid challenges (proposed by workshop
participants) onto a timeline. The goal is to show practitioners what
can (and can't!) be done now and to set a research agenda for
researchers. We will also discuss the activities of the Research
Group, in particular the Semantic Grid primer which is currently under
discussion on the GGF SEM-GRD mailing list.
